BACK ON THE PRACTICE FIELD!!!
The ESJ Wildcats suited up today for Monday afternoon's practice following a tough 45-32 lost to Thibodaux on Friday night. The Wildcats met early Saturday morning to look at the film from the previous night's game. Coach Alden Foster & the ESJ Coaching staff worked on minimizing the number of mental errors & the cringing amount of turnovers in Monday's practice.
Practice began with the Wildcats splitting into groups. Players were grouped according to their positions. This is a method commonly used to address issues in certain personnel. Some of the attention grabbers at Monday's practice were Senior WR Damontae Coxie, QB Marquis Darensbourg and the offensive line group. There was a feeling of high intensity at Monday's practice. The players came out ready & willing to work.
East St. John is preparing to take on District/Tri-Parish rival Destrehan this Friday. Destrehan is 5-0 and sits at the top of their division having not lost a regular season game in two years and are undefeated at home for the past 3. This will be starting quarterback, Marquis Darensbourg's, first time playing against his former team. Darensbourg led DHS to a 14-0 season last year before losing in the state title game to Acadiana. Can Destrehan's weapon be used against them? Come on out this Friday to Ed Reed Stadium at Destrehan High to find out.
Today the East St. John High School football team hit the practice field again today following a tough 45-32 lost to Thibodaux High Tigers. |
